Rainy Days and Sundays

There's something about rains. Something innocent. Something romantic. Something pure.

A good dose of rains never, NEVER fails to bring a spring in my step, a song on my lips, a smile on my face.

They' re like your favourite cheer-up song. Or like that friend who makes you forget your woes in an instant. Perhaps like Ecstacy!? Better still, like a new crush whose mere thought evokes feelings hitherto unknown to you but waiting desperately to be given expression.

They are very much like a cleanser too. When the rain stops, the entire city has this glow of a newly-wed bride and the purity of a new-born. A shower in the rain ends up cleansing my thoughts too...removing all negativities from body, mind, and soul.

There are very few things in life that can beat the pleasure of those slight drizzles on your face while standing in the balcony/office door; walking down an empty road while its raining like crazy; dancing to rain instead of music on the terrace!

And the clouds!! The thundering noise that they make!!! Just the perfect excuse to wrap your arms around him and bury your face in his chest.

The darkness of a cloudy sky is perhaps the only darkness that people welcome with open arms and hearts.

And ofcourse, with rains comes the special monsoon menu - chai, pakodas, poode, jalebi...yum yum!!

My favouirite rain song is - ab ke sawan aise barse (Shubha Mudgal). What's yours ?

Abe.. I love this song vaise.. Ab ke saawan.... truly enthusiastic.

But this "burying face in his chest on thunder lightening" thing is such an old hat. Film makers have for ages hashed this stereotype and is precedent to "mein tumhaare bachche ki maa banne waali hun"

:-p ;-) :-D

awwwwwwwwwwwwww!! a post on RAINS!! lovely!! :) :)

I can relate to each and every word that you've written!! :) Its soooo nice to know that someone i know is as passionate about rains as i am.. maybe even more!! :) ..

'an excuse to wrap your arms about him and bury your face in his chest' ??! lol.. ;) ;)

any song that has rain in them turns a favourite automatically.. like Ab ke sawan.. or Saawan Barse from Dahek (i think that is the name of the movie..the Akshay Khanna and Sonali Bendre song.. ) or Iktara..

but the one right on top for me Tum se hi... it has ALL the things that you've mentioned in this post and more.. a song that always brings a BIG smile on my face!! (oh now i need to hear it right now! :D)

LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE your post .. :)
