Dusk - that time of the day when light surrenders to the darkness around. When it's neither day nor night, quite like the much-talked about "grey".
The time when a husband, after a day's hard work, drives back home with the hopes of seeing his wife soon and enveloping her in his embrace.
The time when a wife frees herself from the household chores to get ready for her husband and lays out the dinner for him in anticipation of a great evening.
This is the time when I travel in my cab, (on some few lucky days) reminiscing about the day's events. Some bitter moments, some sweet, and some insanely irritating.
This is the time when random songs playing on the stereo make you go through a gamut of emotions.
Some make you smile despite yourself...and the cab driver looks up i the rear-view mirror wondering what's wrong with you.
Some make you lean your head against the car window and stare outside at the thousands of twinkling headlights. You see the traffic around you, but what you are looking at are random scenes from your life playing in front of your eyes.
And those of us who are lucky enough to have found their someone special inadvertently imagine their rosy future with them.
This is the time when you observe people around you - a group of young girls in an auto, all dressed up for a party; office people stuffed in a cab, glad to be on their way back home; the guy in the swanky car at the red light eyeing the light-eyed beauty in the bus and what not.
This is the time when I sit in my cab and switch off my cell to write this inane post.

;) whoa! :) I am more of the lot falling in the rosy-future-thinking category :P
this is not an insane post.. this so bloddy makes sense...
the time you observe people is the time you gain knowledge..
and dusk is when the evil sets in and men seek to hide themselves away in their cave... something is so traditional about this... go out when the sun is out, come back before the pitch black sky sets in - i wonder where this tradition started off!
bloody amazing! damn i hav to b a regular here
Hmm..i am among the dreamers. Rosy future ones.
And sometimes you wrap your dupatta tightly around your shoulders thinking wistfully and longingly of a much needed hug..
There i go.
Such mush.
But all ur fault , you gave the cue.

How true. Isn't this what most of us do on the way back home? Watching a replay of our life or the vision of our future running in your thoughts when someone disrupts it saying "kya soch rahi hai" :P. Happens with me often.. Wonderfully articulated Isha :)

Oh this is so beautiful...pretty much in line with everything that is up on this blog...but somehow maybe for the reality associated with it and the way anyone and everyone can associate with it, this entry will strike a chord with anyone who reads it... :)

U ROK!!!
Dusk, in a way does bring out in us, the dreamer - just an the sun ans the moon- make a race for it, to hold hands before disappearing in the distant spectrum s they belong to...
& yeah... Watching people getting on with life does has it's own weird sense of romance.
isnt dusk soo much better than dawn...especially due to the comfort of the arriving night!!
luvd the view of world from the window of ur cab!! seems like a good one for a change!!
@ Rhythm - Double thumbs up to you girl!!! :D :D
